Terms of Service

UseSketch turns a photo you upload into a styled image. There are two ways to use it:

• Style transforms. You pick a style from our catalogue and we apply it to your photo.
• The chat editor. You open a project and describe the change you want in your own words. Each message produces a new version, and versions form a chain you can build on.

Both are produced by an image model run by Google, not by us. That has real consequences for what you can expect, so read What the model produces as well.

The service is operated by DIGIWEB SOLUTIONS LTD, company number 16726411, registered at Suite 6038, 128 Aldersgate Street, Barbican, London, England, EC1A 4AE.

You sign in with an email address and a password. That is currently the only sign-in method. You need an account to generate anything, because generating costs credits and credits belong to an account.

You agree to:

• give a real email address you control,
• keep your password to yourself and not share your account,
• tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. A session lasts 7 days; changing your password signs out your other sessions.

You can delete your account yourself from your account settings. What that removes is set out in the Privacy Policy.

UseSketch is prepaid. You buy credits, then spend them on generations. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

One credit costs EUR 0.02. That rate is the same however many you buy. There is no bulk discount, and the preset packs are simply common amounts:

• EUR 10.00 buys 500 credits
• EUR 30.00 buys 1,500 credits
• EUR 50.00 buys 2,500 credits

You can also enter a custom amount between EUR 10.00 and EUR 500.00. Custom amounts are converted to whole credits and rounded down.

What things cost:

• a style transform costs 5 credits (EUR 0.10)
• an edit in the chat editor costs 10 credits (EUR 0.20)

Credits do not expire. There is no expiry date on a credit and no inactivity rule that takes them away. They remain on your account until you spend them or delete the account.

Prices can change. A change applies to purchases made after it takes effect and never retroactively to credits you already hold.

You are charged only when a generation succeeds. The credits come off your balance after the image has been produced and saved, not before.

Which means:

• If the generation fails for any reason, you are charged nothing. The failed attempt appears in your history with an error, and your balance is untouched.
• If you ask for an edit and the model replies with text instead of an image, for example a clarifying question, that is not a generation and you are charged nothing.
• If your balance is below the cost of the generation, the request is rejected before anything is sent to the model.

Every spend is recorded as a transaction you can review, with the amount and what it was for.

Refunds for purchases are covered by the Return Policy.

This is an image editor that works on photographs of real things and real people. The rules below are the ones that matter for that.

Only upload images you have the right to use. That means photos you took, photos you own, or photos you have permission to use. Do not upload stock photography, film or television stills, artwork, or anyone else's copyrighted images without the right to do so.

Do not upload images of other people without their consent. Someone appearing in the background of a street photo is one thing; taking a photo of a specific person and running it through an image model is another. Get their agreement first.

You must not use UseSketch to attempt to produce:

• sexual content involving minors, or any sexualised image of a real child, in any style. This is the one rule with no context in which it is acceptable, and we will report it.
• intimate or sexual images of a real person who has not consented to them, including images made by altering an ordinary photo of them,
• images designed to deceive people about a real person: putting someone somewhere they were not, showing them doing something they did not do, or presenting a generated image of them as a genuine photograph,
• forged identity documents, certificates, receipts, or anything else meant to pass as a real record,
• content that harasses, threatens or demeans a person or group, or that promotes violence.

You also must not:

• attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or work around credit charging,
• use another person's account, or resell access to yours,
• use the service in a way that breaks the law where you are.

Your uploads stay yours. Uploading a photo does not give us ownership of it. You give us only the permission we need to actually do what you asked: to store the file, to send it and your instruction to the image model, and to show the result back to you.

We do not use your photos or your prompts to train any model. We have no training pipeline. What Google does with data sent to its API is governed by Google's terms, which is why the Privacy Policy asks you to think before uploading.

We claim no ownership of the images you generate. As far as we are concerned they are yours to use, including commercially.

Two honest caveats. First, whether an AI-generated image attracts copyright at all, and who would hold it, is unsettled and differs between countries, so we cannot promise you own the output in the way you own a photo you took. Second, if the image you uploaded was not yours to use, generating from it does not make the result yours either.

Images are generated by a third-party model. We send your image and a prompt and we get an image back. We do not control the model and we cannot guarantee what it returns.

Practically, this means:

• The same photo and the same style will not always produce the same result.
• Results can be wrong, distorted, or simply not what you pictured. Faces, hands and text in images are the usual places this shows.
• The model may not follow your instruction exactly, or may ask you a question instead of editing.
• The model applies its own content filters. A request can be refused for safety reasons even when you believe it is harmless, and we cannot override that. A refusal is not a fault in the service, and it costs you nothing.

Generated images are not photographs. Do not present them as evidence of anything, and do not rely on them where accuracy matters.

We may change, add or remove features, including styles in the catalogue. We may take the service down for maintenance, and it can be unavailable because a provider we depend on is unavailable.

If the service is down, you are not charged for generations you could not run, because charging happens only on success. Credits you already hold are not affected by downtime.

We may suspend or close your account if you break the acceptable use rules above, if we are required to by law, or if your account is being used to attack or defraud the service.

For anything other than the most serious breaches, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to respond. Uploading sexual content involving minors is grounds for immediate closure and a report to the authorities.

You can stop using UseSketch at any time and delete your account from your settings. How unused credits are treated when an account closes is set out in the Return Policy.

The factual position is set out above: the service depends on a third-party image model whose output we do not control, results vary, and requests can be refused by a content filter. Nothing on this page should be read as a promise that a particular image can be produced.

The formal warranty disclaimer, the limitation of liability, and the indemnity are legal clauses that must be drafted and checked against UK consumer law before they are relied on. They are deliberately not drafted here.

UseSketch is operated by a company registered in England and Wales, and its customers include consumers in the UK and the EU.

Which law governs these terms, which courts have jurisdiction, and how disputes are resolved are questions with consumer-protection consequences. They are left for legal review rather than asserted here.

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects what you are allowed to do or what you pay, we will make that clear rather than quietly reword the page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
